The Wrong Usage
There
are a lot of interesting female names in Russia, and many of them have a deep
meaning such as victory, hope, or love. At the same time, there are huge problems
of using some well-known female names in my country because of their wrong
usage.
When
my mother was a pregnant, she wished to give me a well-known female name such
as Katya, Masha, or Anya. Thankfully, my father found those names boring, and
he offered the name Alina for me as an alternative.
In
addition, I absolutely like Russian names and their meanings, but the main problem
is that usually those names are also used as pet names. When I was growing, I
spent a lot of time visiting my grandmother in the village, so I was able to notice
that many goats or cows had the same names as my friends had. At those moment,
I realized that I have very beautiful name, and I was very thankful, too.
In
conclusion, choosing a right name for a child is the best way to uncover
identity and personality as well as to give a bright symbol that will accompany
a child throughout their life.
